As my internship and employment at Senergy Marketing Group sadly comes to an end, I’m reflecting on the experience, the projects I worked on, and how much I’ve grown. Going into my internship last fall, I had little real-world experience in marketing but was eager to gain some before graduating. Working at Senergy was the perfect opportunity for somebody without much experience, since Senergy operates with a very lean, hands-on team. This provided me with the opportunity to work independently across all aspects of marketing and frequently receive thoughtful, one-on-one feedback.

While my internship was fully remote, I flew out to Pennsylvania for a week to work in person with the team. During my time there, I had the opportunity to assist with photoshoots, create content, and go to the company holiday party. It was an amazing opportunity to connect face-to-face and collaborate more directly, and I had so much fun!
What I Worked On & Learned
One of the highlights of my internship was the freedom to explore various areas of marketing. I wasn’t limited to just one task, but had the chance to work on social media strategy, campaign management, graphic design, email marketing, and more. This hands-on experience helped me develop a well-rounded skill set, gain confidence in using different marketing tools and platforms, and learn what aspects of marketing I’m most passionate about.
Featured Portfolio Pieces
1. Road to Rewards Sweepstakes

One of my favorite projects was the Road to Rewards Sweepstakes for Nittany MinitMart, a campaign aimed at increasing app downloads and encouraging customers to join the MinitRewards loyalty program through weekly giveaways. I was involved in the project from start to finish, which made it an incredibly valuable experience. Being part of the process allowed me to see how everything—from the strategy to the execution—came together.
2. Fuel the Cause Campaign

The Fuel the Cause campaign was another impactful project, focused on supporting local fire companies through various donation channels. I had the opportunity to observe creatively, from photoshoots to design. This was one of my favorite projects because it allowed me to create printed marketing materials that brought the campaign to life and made a tangible impact on the community.
3. Lezzer Employee Newsletter
I also had the opportunity to work on the Lezzer Lumber employee newsletter. It was a valuable experience as I got to see how internal communications are used to engage employees and keep them informed. I enjoyed working on this project and learning more about how internal newsletters can foster a sense of connection and community within a company.
4. Managing Social Media for Multiple Brands

One of the things I really enjoyed was managing social media for several brands, like Nittany MinitMart, Nittany Energy, and Bradigan’s. I had the chance to create a variety of content that engaged audiences across different industries. From employee spotlights to behind-the-scenes glimpses, and interactive posts, I loved experimenting with different types of content to see what worked with each brand's followers. It was exciting to see how social media helped grow their online communities and boost engagement.
Final Thoughts

My time at Senergy Marketing Group was an incredible learning experience that allowed me to explore different aspects of marketing while working on meaningful, real-world projects. The hands-on approach, supportive team, and the opportunity to work with real clients made this internship both exciting and educational. If you’re looking for a company where you can gain experience across various marketing areas and take ownership of your work, Senergy is the perfect place.
I’m incredibly grateful for everything I’ve learned and am excited to apply these skills in the next steps of my career.
